Sutton transforms their community through acts of kindness at Easter

For the fourth year running, Volunteer Centre Sutton is delighted to support ShareTheMiracle, a community initiative collecting chocolate eggs to donate to those less fortunate at Easter.

ShareTheMiracle is a simple initiative that helps individuals and organisations build stronger communities through acts of kindness at Easter.

Chocolate Easter eggs are donated and collected by ‘stations’ including businesses, schools, churches and any other voluntary groups. The eggs are then are distributed to less fortunate local residents including the elderly, people with disabilities and young people.

ShareTheMiracle began in Sutton and Sutton-based Reed Business Information (the Risk & Business Analytics (RBA) market segment of RELX) were one of the first businesses to get involved. RBI’s activity now extends to their other offices across the UK, and their employees have donated a mouth-watering 1500 eggs since 2016.

Working in partnership with Volunteer Centre Sutton, RBI has distributed eggs to local charities and communities including Sutton Carers Centre, MAPS, Onside Soccer, Horizon, Home-Start, Wellesley Lodge, Sutton Lodge, Orchard Hill College and My Time for Young Carers. This year, we will also have the help of Sutton MPS to distribute eggs on our behalf.

“We really enjoyed being part of the initiative. It enabled us to connect with local charities and we were very touched by how pleased they were to receive the eggs. ShareTheMiracle has proved an effective way to engage employees as part of our CSR strategy to support our local community.” Julie Lever, Charity Development Executive, Reed Business Information Limited
