What is volunteering?
Volunteering is described as an unpaid activity where someone gives their time to help a not-for-profit, charitable or public sector organisation or group, or to help an individual who they are not related to. As a volunteer, you will not receive financial reimbursement beyond out-of-pocket expenses or sign a contract of employment.
For many people, volunteering is a great way to give something back to the community and allows you to connect to your community and make it a better place. However, volunteering is a two-way street, and it can benefit you and your family as much as the cause you choose to help.Volunteering helps you make new friends and contacts Volunteering increases your social and relationship skills Volunteering can enhance your CV, skills and experience Volunteering can give you the chance to develop your own interests and passions
