Inclusive Cycling Session Volunteer - Ecolocal

Join our friendly team running inclusive cycling sessions! Help participants enjoy side-by-side, wheelchair, hand, recumbent and two-wheel cycles. No cycling knowledge or experience needed—support, fun and confidence-building for all abilities!

About the Organisation

EcoLocal is an independent charity that acts as a hub for community-led projects, events and activities. Our aim is to "achieve strong, vibrant communities in a healthy environment".

What you will be doing

Our accessible cycling project helps people with all abilities and those with disabilities to be able to experience cycling, to gain exercise, meet other people and learn skills. We have an amazing array of cycles; adult trikes, go carts, wheelchair bikes, 3 wheel tandems, hand cycles and more!

Our session volunteers get involved with various tasks including:

  • Taking cycles out of the store and returning them after the sessions.
  • Help set up barriers and registration desk.
  • Keeping the track clear of unused cycles.
  • Helping direct participants to suitable cycles.

What's in it for you?

Volunteering offers a rewarding experience, hands-on involvement and the chance to be part of a friendly, inclusive team.

All we ask that is you are enthusiastic, reliable, able to push/ride cycles and able to arrive at 9.15am as sessions need to start promptly. All abilities are welcome to help with this task. You should also have an interest in working with people from all ages and backgrounds, particularly those with disabilities and learning difficulties.
