About the Organisation
Sutton Nature Conservation Volunteers (SNCV) is the main nature conservation organisation, solely operating in the London Borough of Sutton. We have been working on Sutton’s many wildlife sites since 1987.

What's in it for you?
You’ll be part of a friendly, welcoming team while spending time outdoors and making a real difference to local green spaces. This is a great opportunity to support your wellbeing, gain hands-on conservation experience, and get involved in practical activities at your own pace—whether you’re working towards an award or simply want to give back to nature in your community.
What skills will you need?
- Warm but old clothes, appropriate for the weather conditions.
- Sturdy footwear. Steel toe caps are ideal but fret not if you don’t have any, sturdy walking boots will do nicely or we can always lend you something!
- A packed lunch.
- Enthusiasm and energy to get out there!
We will provide:
- Please bring your own thermos of tea or coffee. Biscuits are provided!
- All tools, training and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Trained task leaders (both LBS staff and SNCV leaders)
- A challenge!
What's the time commitment and where?
Time Commitment
- Tuesdays and Thursdays – volunteering around the borough
- Wednesdays – volunteer days at Sutton Ecology Centre.
- Monthly (3rd Sunday of the month) – task days on one of the borough’s many nature sites.
Location:
Sutton Ecology Centre, Festival Walk, Carshalton. Plus various nature sites around the Borough - attendance subject to seasonal programme.
