Not everyone on the committee has diabetes and it is certainly not a requirement. However, interest in the condition and more generally the health sector and the difference it can make to individual lives and community as a whole is an advantage.
The role represents a fantastic platform for anyone who wants to "give back" to the local community, develop further existing leadership and other skills as well as learning new skills, expanding own network in Sutton and beyond, building expertise in the subject area of diabetes.
Diabetes UK is a highly inclusive organisation and we will adapt to specific requirements which applicants may bring. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those not currently living with diabetes.
