About the Organisation
We are an independent, local charity supporting older people in the London Borough of Sutton for over 30 years. We offer a wide range of services and support for older people, their families and carers who need our help and to support you to live an independent and fulfilling later life.
What you will be doing
As a Walk and Talk Buddy Volunteer, you will accompany a client on a gentle weekly walk in their local area for up to 12 weeks. These relaxed walks provide companionship, conversation, and encouragement—helping clients feel more comfortable stepping back into everyday life.
What's in it for you?
In addition to providing you any relevant training for the role, we will also provide you with check-ins, a key contact or other functions to ensure you are best supported as a volunteer. You will be given travel expenses in accordance with our policy. You would join a friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic team. There are always opportunities for personal development.
What skills will you need?
We are looking for volunteers who are fit enough to walk confidently at various speeds, and are compassionate, patient, caring and non-judgmental. We need someone who is reliable, and can hold appropriate boundaries. You must be an excellent listener and enjoy meeting people.
DBS check required.

Time Commitment:
On average 2 hours per week, this can be more if you have lots of time to give!
