About the Organisation
The League of Friends is a much-valued part of life at St Helier Hospital, raising funds to benefit the Trust by running a range of services for patients, visitors and staff.
What you will be doing
- using the electronic till and payment system
- restocking shelves
- tidying the storeroom
- keeping the shop clean
and any other aspect of shop work.
What's in it for you?
A sense of being useful and helping someone, making a difference. Although we have mainly visitors and staff using the shop, we also have contact with patients and have to remember that patients are here for a reason, so giving a friendly smile and word to patients can help to keep them calm.
What skills will you need?
What's the time commitment and where?
Time Commitment
Normally four hours a shift and most volunteers do one shift a week but many others help by doing a second shift as well. Our core hours are 10am - 2pm and the 4 hour shift will be adjusted to cover opening and closing procedures.
