What you will be doing

Help staff with the running or set up of Age UK Sutton's groups and activities and provide encouragement and a warm welcome to participants e.g. our new Walking Tennis Group!

ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Provide encouragement and a warm welcome to our clients.
- Help staff with the running or set up of our groups and activities.
- Support our clients to engage with an activity, or to share their thoughts and experiences in our peer support groups.
- Complete and submit a feedback form after sessions and pass on any questions or concerns.
- Participate in supervisions as well as learning and development.
- Minimum commitment: From 1 hour per week, depending on activity.

Our Head of Volunteering is a trained Mental Health First Aider. We welcome opportunities to discuss any learning or support needs with those interested in volunteering with us, subject to role requirements. PLEASE NOTE that this role is community based and so accessibility is dependant on location.

Age Range: We can accept applications for under 18s, including from 16+.

What's the time commitment and where? 

Time Commitment

Minimum commitment: From 1 hour per week.

 

Role Address

Main office: Age UK Sutton, Sutton Gate, 1 Carshalton Rd, Sutton, SM1 4LE (Activities and groups held in community venues across Sutton).

Main office: We're a 5 minute walk from the train station, on the corner of Carshalton Road and the High Street. The nearest bus stop (Police Station) is a 2 minute walk. Our office is accessible.
