About the Organisation
EcoLocal is an independent charity that acts as a hub for community-led projects, events and activities. Our aim is to "achieve strong, vibrant communities in a healthy environment".
What you will be doing
The Lodge walled garden (within the grounds of the Sutton Ecology Centre) has been in cultivation since the 18th Century. You will be joining a friendly team of volunteers to help with a variety of tasks including light weeding, watering, sowing seeds and general garden maintenance.
What's in it for you?
Enjoy the outdoors and satisfaction of gardening. Be part of a project that celebrates Carshalton's heritage.
What skills will you need?
All keen gardeners, beginners and experts alike are welcome. We work as a team.
We welcome all abilities, but for now, the garden is not accessible for all mobilities. We cannot provide one to one support.
What's the time commitment and where?
Time Commitment:
Our task days happen on one Saturday and one Sunday per month (10am - 2pm). Please use the form below to connect with EcoLocal who will then send you further information about dates for the task days. We recommend you wear sturdy footwear, and dress appropriately for the weather. You must bring your own gloves and refreshments.
More frequent support roles may be available.
Location:
The Lodge, Honeywood Walk, Carshalton, Surrey, SM5 3NX
Disability and Access Support: the garden is not yet accessible for all mobilities.
