What you will be doing

Home Start Sutton is seeking a dedicated and passionate Volunteer Grant Writer to join our team. This part-time role is ideal for individuals eager to gain experience in the charity sector or for retirees who wish to contribute their expertise. As a Volunteer Grant Writer, you will play a vital role in securing the funds necessary to support our programs and initiatives. Working alongside our CEO and team you will support ongoing grant applications and help build relationships with local businesses to secure funds.

Hours: 4 hours per week
Location: Home Start Sutton offices in Carshalton, with flexibility for remote work

Key Responsibilities:
Researching Funding Opportunities:
Identify potential funding sources, including grants, donations, and sponsorships.
Maintain a database of potential donors and funding organizations.

Grant Writing:
Write and submit compelling grant proposals to secure funding.
Collaborate with staff to gather necessary information and documentation for grant applications.
Reporting and Documentation:
Track and report on the status of grant applications and fundraising efforts.
Ensure compliance with funding requirements and timely submission of reports.

Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or a related field is a plus but enthusiasm is just as valued.
Passion for supporting families and children in the community.
