What you will be doing

Honeywood Museum has an important role in the local community. We take pride in our excellent customer service are looking for volunteers to support us by greeting and serving customers at the reception desk. You will be answering the telephone, recording admissions and serving people in the shop.

The purpose of the role is to provide a warm welcome and excellent customer service to visitors to the museum.

What’s involved?
o To greet visitors, record admissions, take payments and give a mini-guide of the museum.
o To answer the telephone and record all messages.
o To handle initial enquiries about group visits and birthday parties.
o To serve customers in the shop and use the till.
o To keep the shop and desk area clean and tidy.
o To assist with the preparation of craft materials

Skills Description
Good communication skills. You will need to be able to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds. Ability and willingness to learn about the history of the museum and the local area. Ability and willingness to learn how to use the electronic till. Willingness to follow procedures and ask for assistance when needed. Customer care skills and a friendly approach needed.

What's the time commitment and where? 

A regular commitment of 3 hours per week or per fortnight

Rail: Carshalton Station from Victoria or Epsom (5 minute walk) Buses: 127, 157, 407, S3, X26
