About the Organisation
Duffus Community Foundation is a small, local, family founded charity focusing on supporting children and young people's wellbeing. We provide youth groups, workshops and 1-2-1 support in schools and in the community, across the London Boroughs of Sutton and Croydon.
What you will be doing
Unity Junction is a community hub space run by Duffus Community Foundation (DCF) located within the St Nicholas Centre, Sutton. It offers a welcoming, inclusive space designed for growth, connection, wellbeing and community inclusion. We run a full programme of activities and sessions:
- For young people: After-school club drop-in sessions, neuro-divergent group sessions, board games club, art, wellbeing sessions, advice and information services.
- For adults & over-60s: Friendly tea-and-cake drop-ins, bingo club, mindful wellness activities, inter-generational projects.
- Wellbeing art sessions and yoga/wellness series open to the public.
- Welcoming people into the space and explaining what we do.
- Making hot drinks/refreshments.
- Supporting services delivering events/sessions by setting up the room (if you are able to), chatting to service-users and making people feel at ease.
- Potential to open and lock up the venue in the future, if all parties are confident in this.

What skills will you need?
We are looking for people with these skills and attributes:
- Friendly and approachable with good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.

- Good listener with a caring nature.
- Adaptable and willing to help with varied tasks.
What's the time commitment and where?
Time Commitment:
- At least 3/4 hours per week, options to support with activities you are particularly interested in.
- Timings are either 11-3 or 3-6 or a combination of both if you are available.
- The morning session would be supporting adults in the space and the afternoon would be with young people.
- Days would currently be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday, or a combination of these.
