Are you passionate about driving and looking for a way to make a meaningful difference in your community? Southern Oaks is seeking enthusiastic volunteer drivers to help older people enjoy a more active and fulfilling lifestyle. Based in Surrey, we support retirement living communities in Ewell, Cheam, Sutton, and Purley.

Who We Are:
Southern Oaks is a registered charity operating on a not-for-profit basis. We’re not a care home; instead, we provide supported and independent living options for older people who value their freedom and enjoy engaging with their local community. We are proud to say that we actively reinvest back into our housing to improve the lives of our residents.

What’s Involved?:
As a volunteer driver, you’ll use our minibus to transport residents to a range of wonderful destinations, including Denbies Vineyard, Garson’s Farm, Mayfield Lavender Fields, and Chessington Garden Centre. You’ll also have opportunities to drive on longer trips to places like Brighton and Gunwharf Quays.

On these longer day trips, you’ll have the option to enjoy free time at the destination, offering a fantastic perk for those who love exploring new places. Whether it’s creating companionship along the journey or providing transport to these exciting locations, your role will help make a big difference in the lives of older people.

Skills Description
This role is perfect for anyone aged 30-70 (due to insurance requirements) with: A clean driving licence The ability to drive a minibus Reliable timekeeping An honest and dependable nature A DBS check and references will be required. If you can spare a few hours regularly and want to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you!

What's the time commitment and where? 

A typical day out would be picking up our residents at 10.30am and back around 2pm. Further afield could be slightly longer, being back for 5pm
