About the Organisation
Sutton Mental Health Foundation
What you will be doing
Sutton Community dye bed is a Sutton Mental Health project based at Oru Space roof terrace and Spaces in central Sutton to help people get back in touch with nature and hand dying slow stitching. We have a small group of passionate residents who get together on a Fridays 12.30-2.30pm and want to capture this innovative project. We use gardening and textiles to help people and their carers improve their mental health.
What's in it for you?
Credited on the film which will be shown at a 3-6 month exhibition at Whitehall and in a book that is going to be published. Feeling good about helping promote ways in which Sutton residents help their mental health in fun and creative ways alongside local businesses.
What skills will you need?
What's the time commitment and where?
Minimum two sessions (one gardening and one slow stitch Friday 12.30-2.30pm 1st, 2nd or third Friday for the gardening and last Friday of the month for the slow stitch) and editing time. Hopefully capturing more sessions than this.
Location: Oru Space Roof Terrace on the High Street and Spaces up by the Sutton Police Station.
Disability and Access Support: We are wanting to be inclusive so please get in touch to discuss.
