About the Organisation
Sutton Council's Cultural Services manages and promotes the borough's libraries, museums, and archives, and supports and promotes arts and heritage within Sutton.
What you will be doing
Our Rhymetime Leaders will be trained to a high level to lead our volunteers. All of our volunteers are supported by other volunteers and the library staff.
*If you are interested in leading a dual language, SEND, or a specialised rhymetime or storytime, we also welcome your applicantion.*
Main tasks:
- Helping to set up and clear away the sessions.
- Welcome families and show them to the allocated area.
- Lead the rhymetime sessions with nursery rhymes and stories.
- Create a positive environment for all visitors.
- Promote the services the library has to offer and encourage attendees to use the library.

What skills will you need?
- Confident to perform rhymetime sessions in front of families (this could be in front of small or large audiences)
- Interested in leading activities with children
- Friendly and approachable
- Organised
- Punctual and reliable
- Have a positive attitude towards all
What's the time commitment and where?
Time commitment: at least 1 hour a week.
Location: The role is dependent on the location the volunteer chooses.
