About the Organisation
Our Cancer Information and Support Centres at both Epsom Hospital and St Helier Hospical provide information and support to anyone affected by cancer, and those who are worried about the risks of cancer.
What you will be doing
- Receive visitors and accept telephone calls
- Direct enquiries to the appropriate person
- Help the Centre Manager with appropriate tasks
- Make appointments for complementary therapies (where appropriate)
- Replenish literature in information boards around the hospital
What's in it for you?
- Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust mandatory training (online)
- Face-to-face training on listening and responding skills training, cancer awareness training and a general induction training for the centres
All training has to be completed before starting as a volunteer. There is a three month probation period, after which there will be a discussion with Centre Manager to see how things have gone.

All Front of House Volunteers are required to have a DBS check (organised and funded by us) as they work with a very vulnerable client group.
