Volunteer with Homeless People - Sutton Night Watch Homeless Charity

We need volunteers to help Sutton Night Watch deliver our services to homeless people.

About the Organisation

Sutton Night Watch Homeless Charity provides, for homeless people, meals, showers, clothing, toiletries, and welfare support including counselling. Most important, we are a place where homeless people can be seen, heard, and understood.

What you will be doing

Volunteers help us to:

  • prepare meals and drinks in the kitchen
  • keep a clean and tidy environment (washing up!)
  • welcome and engage with the clients
  • signpost clients towards Local Authority and other support services

What's in it for you?

As well as helping with day to day tasks, this role provides an opportunity to improve your people skills, to identify clients specific needs and help identify solutions. You’ll be working with a cheerful group of people who help people in less fortunate circumstances than ourselves.

What skills will you need?

A willingness to get involved in whatever needs doing. Good listening skills and an empathetic nature.

DBS check required.

We are open to all people, depending on the disabilities. The premises do have steps. Roles require some standing.

What's the time commitment and where?

Time Commitment
We need volunteers during 8AM - noon and 1PM - 4PM, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Hours and days can be flexible to suit you.
