Mentor A Young Person In Sutton (school-based) - MAPS Mentoring (Volunteer Centre Sutton)

Join MAPS Mentoring as a school-based Volunteer Mentor and support children and young people in Sutton who are facing challenges and dealing with complex life circumstances. You could transform a life with just an hour a week.

About the Organisation

MAPS (Mentoring, Advocacy & Peer Support) school-based Mentoring supports children and young people in Sutton, aged 11 to 16, who are facing challenges or complex needs. Mentoring plays a vital role in helping students achieve their academic goals and grow in confidence offering guidance, encouragement, and a consistent, supportive presence.

What you will be doing

You’ll receive full training and ongoing support from our team of Mentoring Practitioners. Once matched with your Mentee, you’ll meet weekly for up to 12 months, at their school, as well as regular check-ins from your dedicated Mentoring Pactitioner.

As well as your weekly Mentoring sessions, you will also have the opportunity to share exciting experiences with your Mentee. This could include monthly mentoring socials — from table tennis and video games to painting and creative workshops — offering young people a fun, relaxed space to connect, reflect, and grow. Plus, there are special group activities throughout the year such as West End theatre trips, Go Ape, crazy golf, London Zoo, and more.

As we have a limited number of places for school-based Mentoring, you may prefer to apply to be a community-based Mentor. See also: Mentor A Young Person In Sutton - MAPS Mentoring (Volunteer Centre Sutton)
