About the Organisation
Sutton Cultural Services are setting up a new men’s group in one of Sutton’s libraries, under the banner of Talk Club, a mental health charity for 18+ men, which has over 120 groups around the UK.
What you will be doing
Talk and Listen groups are peer to peer talking groups led by volunteers we call Captains.
As a Talk Club Captain, you will:
- Lead and facilitate Talk Club groups in one of Sutton’s libraries.
- Create a safe, welcoming space where men feel comfortable to share and listen.
- Use the Talk Club sharing model, starting with “How are you? Out of 10?” to guide conversations.
- Support men to express how they feel and explore what’s affecting their wellbeing.
- Manage group sessions, which typically last up to two hours, adapting to group size and dynamics.
What's in it for you?
Full training and ongoing support to confidently facilitate groups.
- Develop leadership, communication, and active listening skills.
