Retail Assistant (Wallington) - Emmaus SLC

Interested in helping out in one of our charity shops? You could be sorting donations, serving customers, and doing some window dressing.

About the Organisation

Emmaus SLC supports formerly homeless people, providing a home for as long as needed, meaningful work, and work experience through our charity shop social enterprises, helping reduce homelessness and poverty.

What you will be doing

As a Retail Assistant in our charity shop, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our store and providing excellent service to our customers. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Serving members of the public as a cashier, handling transactions, and offering friendly, helpful service at the till.
  • Sorting and grading donated stock to ensure items meet our quality standards.
  • Hanging, sizing, and tagging clothing items for display, ensuring they are presented attractively on the shop floor.
  • Replenishing and rotating stock regularly to keep the shop well-stocked and inviting for customers.
  • Pricing and displaying stock in a way that maximises sales and highlights the best items.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a retail environment and wants to make a positive impact in their community. Full training will be provided, and you will be working as part of a supportive and welcoming team.
