Fundraising Volunteer - Age UK Sutton

We are looking for a volunteer with a fundraising focus, supporting us to build relationships in the Borough and extend our reach.

About the Organisation

We are an independent, local charity supporting older people in the London Borough of Sutton for over 30 years. We offer a wide range of services and support for older people, their families and carers who need our help and to support you to live an independent and fulfilling later life.

What you will be doing

As an independent, local charity we are responsible for raising our own funds so we can continue to deliver vital services and provide support to thousands of older people, their families and carers in Sutton. We need a volunteer to help extend our reach and build relationships within the Borough.

As a Fundraising Volunteer you would be researching and talking with local business and community groups to strengthen our existing relationships and build new ones. Collating and growing our contacts and leads. We also need you to research community fundraising opportunities like token schemes.

What's in it for you?

In addition to providing you any relevant training for the role, we will also provide you with check-ins, a key contact or other functions to ensure you are best supported as a volunteer. You will be given travel expenses in accordance with our policy. You would join a friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic team. There are always opportunities for personal development.

What skills will you need?

We need volunteers who are strong, confident communicators that thrive meeting new people.  You will need to be self-motivated and passionate.  If you have a fundraising or research background that is great, but we are also looking for volunteers who have an interest in learning more about the fundraising world. Local knowledge of Sutton will be useful in this role.
