About the Organisation
We are an independent, local charity supporting older people in the London Borough of Sutton for over 30 years. We offer a wide range of services and support for older people, their families and carers who need our help and to support you to live an independent and fulfilling later life.
What you will be doing
At Age UK Sutton we are looking to extend our set of case studies beyond clients, to include donors, businesses and fellow volunteers. Case studies are an essential tool to help us apply for fundraising, communicate our impact and demonstrate the value of the great services we provide.
As a case study volunteer, you would be interviewing people from across the community to capture their stories. You may also use case studies written by other members of staff. You'd then refine these stories within our case study template and help with the overall look and feel. If you have any skills in photography or videography and could capture visuals to go alongside the study, that's a bonus!
What's in it for you?
In addition to providing you any relevant training for the role, we will also provide you with check-ins, a key contact or other functions to ensure you are best supported as a volunteer. You will be given travel expenses in accordance with our policy. You would join a friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic team. There are always opportunities for personal development.
What skills will you need?
We are looking for volunteers with a background in writing, journalism or editing. Someone who is a great listener, non-judgmental and wants to hear stories from all walks of life. We need somebody who is passionate, and self-motivated.
DBS check required.
What's the time commitment and where?
Time Commitment:
Ideally, 1-2 hours per week, which can be flexible
Role Address:
This role would initially be based in our offices (Sutton Gate, Carshalton Rd, Sutton SM1 4LE) however there may be opportunities for home working, and there certainly will be working in the community.
