About the Organisation
We are an independent, local charity supporting older people in the London Borough of Sutton for over 30 years. We offer a wide range of services and support for older people, their families and carers who need our help and to support you to live an independent and fulfilling later life.
What you will be doing
For some of our services we reach out to clients to ask them about their experience using a simple, pre-set questionnaire. We need volunteers who are confident on the phone and are patient listeners to make these calls, and then to write up notes on our internal database. Speaking with older people make this a truly rewarding role.
You'll work with a warm, friendly and lively office team and can volunteer at times that suit you during the week. You will be given a list of clients to call and run through the pre-set questions with them in order to capture their feedback. You will then need to make accurate notes.

In addition to providing you any relevant training for the role, we will also provide you with check-ins, a key contact or other functions to ensure you are best supported as a volunteer. What skills will you need?
Because some of the clients we work with have complex needs, you'll need to bring empathy, patience and a non-judgmental approach. You'll need to have good telephone skills and be a patient listener. A good level of computer skills is required for inputting notes and using our internal system.
Age 16+
DBS check required.
What's the time commitment and where?
Time Commitment:
From 2 hours per week, flexible, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

This role is based in our offices (Sutton Gate, Carshalton Rd, Sutton SM1 4LE).
