About the Organisation
Rising Ohana’s CIC supports families and young parents through trauma-informed community work, parental assessments, and practical wellbeing support, helping families build stability, confidence, and positive outcomes.
What you will be doing
- Welcome and support attendees at community events.
- Offer general guidance, information, and signposting to services.
- Assist with setting up, stewarding, and clearing event spaces.
- Help ensure a friendly, inclusive, and safe environment for all.
- Work alongside staff and other volunteers to support community engagement.

What skills will you need?
You don’t need formal qualifications — just good communication, a friendly and patient approach, teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn, complete training (including safeguarding), and support attendees confidently.
A DBS check will be required.
What's the time commitment and where?
Time Commitment:
Flexible — volunteers are asked to support community events on an ad-hoc basis, typically a few hours per event. You can choose which events you attend based on your availability.
Role Address:
Support takes place at community venues, event spaces, and public locations across the local area. Specific locations and times will be shared in advance.
