Passionate about arts and crafts? Love making connections and spreading joy? We’re on the lookout for creative, kind-hearted volunteers to join our Monday Morning Arts & Crafts Sessions at our welcoming retirement home community in Ewell Village.

About the Organisation

Southern Oaks is an independent, not-for-profit charity providing a range of independent and supported living at a choice of locations in North-East Surrey.

What you will be doing

Get crafty with our residents and enjoy our well stocked arts and crafts room where we have everything you need to get creative, including paints, brushes, pencils, markers, paper, card and sketchbooks, along with scissors, glue, stickers, stamps and a variety of seasonal craft materials. You’ll also find knitting and crochet supplies, beads, buttons, fabric pieces, and simple modelling kits, plus plenty of tools and equipment to make crafting easy and enjoyable for everyone.

What skills will you need?

  • A friendly, confident personality.
  • Clear speaking and good people skills.
  • A sense of fun and humour.
  • Patience and reliability.
  • Plenty of enthusiasm and community spirit.
  • Enthusiasm for arts and crafts is more important that ability!

All our volunteers are required to complete an Enhanced DBS check. This is arranged by Southern Oaks is supported by references and other suitability checks.
