About the Organisation
Sutton Mental Health Foundation supports people in Sutton and promotes mental wellbeing, resilience and recovery from mental distress.
What you will be doing
- Supporting simple creative activities such as colouring, collage, and crafts.
- Helping to create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Encouraging gentle communication and social interaction within the group.
- Respecting that everyone participates in different ways and at their own pace.
- Working alongside the group facilitator to support the smooth running of sessions.
- Maintaining appropriate boundaries and respecting confidentiality.
- Supporting a trauma-informed approach, recognising that some participants may have experienced displacement, isolation, discrimination, or trauma.

What skills will you need?
We are looking for someone who is:
- Open-minded, inclusive, and respectful of people from diverse backgrounds.
- Fully supportive of LGBTQ+ identities and communities.
- Understanding and supportive of refugee and asylum-seeking communities.
- Calm, patient, friendly, and approachable.
- Non-judgemental and emotionally aware.
- Respectful of boundaries and confidentiality.
- Comfortable communicating using simple and clear English.
- Interested in creative activities and using creativity to support wellbeing and connection.
- Reliable and able to commit to attending sessions regularly.
No previous volunteering experience is required. We welcome volunteers with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
A DBS check will be undertaken for this role.

Time Commitment:
Every second Monday 6.30pm to 8.30pm
