About the Organisation
People Arise Now is a charity supporting individuals, families and communities through youth work, skills development, community activities and other practical support.
What you will be doing
You will support our detached youth team at the Sutton Pumptrack (Rosehill Park West, Sutton, SM1 3EY), using bike repair as a way to engage young people and build positive relationships.
You may:
- Help young people learn basic bike maintenance and repairs.
- Show young people how to safely use bike repair tools.
- Help with punctures, brakes, chains, tyres and basic servicing.
- Encourage young people to have a go and develop practical skills.
- Help create a positive and welcoming environment at the bike ramps.
- Engage young people in conversations and positive activities.
- Signpost to other local youth activities.
- Help set up and pack away equipment.
You do not need to be a qualified bike mechanic. Enthusiasm, patience and an interest in bikes are just as important.

Minimum age 18+
This organisation will need to carry out a DBS check for this role. Find out more about DBS checks for volunteers.

Time commitment:
2-4 hours a week.

Our Monday bike repair club (4:30pm – 6:30pm) takes place at Hill House, Bishopsford Road, Carshalton, SM4 6BL
