Wellbeing Support Project

Wellbeing Support Project provides tailored support to promote independence via a monthly home-visiting service for older adults in Wallington (or SM6 postcode), many of whom may be housebound or experiencing poor health or mobility.

LBS LogoFunded by the London Borough of Sutton, Wellbeing Support Project offers regular home-visiting "check-in" service to help people find the right support, stay connected to the community and make informed choices about things that matter to them. Our trained volunteers provide a friendly, listening ear, share information about local services, and help people stay independent while reducing social isolation.

What We Do

Wellbeing Buddies

Through relaxed, friendly conversation, our volunteers build trusted relationships through regular check-ins, helping people access support, connect with their community and make informed choices about issues affecting their lives. We also help identify risks early and ensure timely referrals to professional services when needed.

Please note:

  • We complement existing services and are not a substitute for professional care.

  • We do not provide shopping, transport, or personal care.

Referral information:

  • Demand may be high, and there may be a waiting period before a volunteer allocated.

  • Priority is given to those assessed as most in need, but each referral is considered individually.

  • All health issues or risks must be shared at the time of referral.

  • Consent from the individual is required, and they should be involved in completing the referral form.

Eligibility:

  • Aged 50+

  • Living in Wallington (or the SM6 postcode)

  • Willing and able to engage with a volunteer
