Our Community Volunteer Squad has been helping local residents with one-off tasks for almost 2 years now!
Community Volunteer Squad members have volunteered over 750 hours of their time in tasks ranging from installing radiator foil, gardening, DIY, driving/collections digital/technology support, decluttering to moving furniture.
So we'd like to congratulate and say a HUGE thank you to our Community Volunteer Squad!
Thank you!
Our Community Volunteer Squad members range from those who try to volunteer regularly for our tasks to those who are waiting for when a task timing matches with their free time.
How do we match residents in need with Squad volunteers?
We work closely with local referral partners/agencies such as Age UK Sutton, Citizens Advice Sutton, Sutton Housing Partnership, Sutton Carers Centre and Together for Sutton who make referrals to us. These referrals are then reviewed and assessed whether they are suitable for our Community Volunteer Squad to undertake.
Then at Volunteer Centre Sutton - we liaise with our Community Volunteer Squad members to match a volunteer (or two!) to the task depending on the task.
This sounds great - how do I get involved?
