Volunteer Centre Sutton: Celebrating 60 Years of Community Impact

On 6 June 2025, Volunteer Centre Sutton marked 60 years of service with a celebration at Sutton Central Library, uniting staff, volunteers, partners, and the community to honour its lasting impact.

On 6 June, Volunteer Centre Sutton celebrated its 60th anniversary with a special event at Sutton Central Library, bringing together staff, volunteers, community members, and partners to honour six decades of service and social impact across the borough.

The celebration was a heartfelt tribute to the dedication of local volunteers and a chance to reflect on the Centre’s achievements over the past year. It also recognised the vital role of partner organisations in supporting and sustaining volunteering in Sutton.

Guests enjoyed an afternoon of connection and reflection, with time to network, share experiences, and enjoy refreshments. Inspiring speeches were delivered by Barry Lewis, Leader of Sutton Council; Anita Maullin, CEO of Volunteer Centre Sutton; and Deepak Ohry, Chair of the Trustees.

A highlight of the event was the premiere of a short film by local filmmakers produced by Gonzo Editing, showcasing the powerful impact of Volunteer Centre Sutton’s work in the community. Thank you to Christian, Moby and Samir from Gonzo Editing. Watch the video below.
