Sutton’s State of the Sector report project – have your say!

Community Action Sutton and Volunteer Centre Sutton have commissioned a research project to develop understanding of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE) in the Borough of Sutton.

Launched with a sector-wide survey in September 2024, the purpose of this research project is to:

  • Provide everyone working in the VCSE information about the current challenges and opportunities experienced by different organisations
  • Provide insight and information that will support your fundraising and planning
  • Identify potential opportunities for mutual support and collaboration
  • Accurately describe what the VCSE in Sutton needs in terms of support from infrastructure providers locally (e.g. Community Action Sutton and Volunteer Centre Sutton) and more widely (e.g. NCVO, ACEVO, The Charity Commission, and other bodies that support VCSE organisations)
  • Develop everyone’s understanding of the value and diversity of the VCSE in Sutton

We need your help

We would really value a little of your time and knowledge. All feedback will be treated as confidential by our researchers.

We want to hear from as wide a range of VCSE organisations as possible – whether you work only in Sutton, or over a larger area, whether you have employees or are volunteer run, and whatever work you do, your insights and views matter, and we want the final report to be relevant and useful to you.

How you can help:

  • Complete our 20-minute survey to gather information about the charities and community groups operating in our area – volunteer and staff numbers, income, and other details
  • Sign up for a one to one or group meeting (online or in person) to discuss your insight and experiences – book via Calendly, here
  • Email your feedback directly to our researchers – send your feedback, including your name, role, and organisation you represent, to nuptonconsulting@outlook.com by 1 November 2024
  • Help us to promote this project

We want to spread the word about this project as far and wide as possible. If you are able to share this webpage with your network, we would be really grateful!
