On the 12th of October 2023, our Young Commissioners were given the opportunity to speak to Paul Scully, MP for Sutton and Cheam.
Mr Scully discussed his role as an MP in Sutton and Cheam, the nature of his job as well as why he joined politics. The Young Commissioners were very enthusiastic to ask about some of his responsibilities as well his top priorities for young people currently. E-safety and technology was certainly one of those!
The Young Commissioners found the visit to be a fantastic opportunity to meet a politician working at the forefront of shaping policy that affects young people.
Paul also very kindly presented our first ever Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Award for the Young Commissioners.
The winner was Joseph, someone who has shown true leadership and unwavering commitment in his role as a Young Commissioner over the past year. This award is a testament to Joseph's unparalleled contribution and his role in creating a brighter future for our community here in Sutton.
As one of his fellow Young Commissioners said "He is a great guy to be around in general, and a great contributor. He has been a large help to our cause and our community.’’
Congratulations, Joseph, for this well-deserved recognition!
