People affected by cancer have a lot of stress and anxiety when they are diagnosed with cancer, when they are having treatment, after treatment ends and if they are living with incurable cancer. Some patients and carers are also dealing with a life changing / limiting illness and being able to offer gentle complementary therapies can help to make them feel better and give them something to look forward to. Clients are people affected by cancer, their relatives or carers.

As a Parent/Carer Advice and Support Volunteer, you will support parents/Carers by providing them with accurate, up to date advice and information about a range of topics, including local and national services and support they may be entitled to.

We recruit, train and deploy volunteer mentors, matching them with mentees (students at Harris Academy - Sutton 6th Form), and providing high quality support to both so that they are well prepared and can have an effective and impactful mentoring relationship. Our mentoring is one to one, for young people aged 14-25 years old, for 1 hour, once a month, for up to a year.

Four times a year, under 18s (or under 25 if SEND), living and studying in the London Borough of Sutton, can volunteer to share their views with key decision makers.

Sutton Mental Health Foundation is looking to recruit a volunteer secretary to the Trust Board, to support and assist the Chair and CEO. This is an important and confidential role within the Trust. The main areas of the role are, in consultation with the Chair and CEO, the preparation of all Board/AGM meetings, the preparation of Board/AGM papers, minute taking/writing up the minutes in a timely manner. Other duties include support to the Trustees, as well as updating of trustee records.

As a Young and Young Adult Carer Activities Volunteer you will support staff to run interesting, supportive and informative activities for Young and Young Adult Carers aged between 8 and 25 years of age.

As many of our young people would be unable to get to a central meeting point, we go and pick them all up from their houses at the start of the project and drop them off again at the end. We also go out to activities in the minibus each day.
