Nine of our wonderful volunteers went into Sherwood Park School, an absolutely amazing school that caters for the most vulnerable children in Sutton. These young people all have severe learning difficulties, disabilities and medical needs and would normally be sent away from their families to be educated.
The library had been turned into an additional classroom to support more children and the books had to be stored in another space.
The request for help was to sort and catalogue the books into different genres so that they are accessible to the children. The volunteers went in after school hours over a week and did an amazing job. They got real satisfaction from helping on this task and the school were incredibly grateful.
When the school have managed to secure shelving, we hope to go back to help put it up and to find a home for each book.
