Meeting at Manor Park café, members started by sharing hot drinks, celebrations and news including that the iconic water foundation in Manor Park may get it’s long awaited work done this year.
Peter, local volunteering legend who was featured as a Volunteer Story of the Month, was asked to lead this session as he had previously led photography workshops at the park with the Manor Park Friends Group over the summer.
With his signature wit, we were treated to a punchy and entertaining session. Many of us were surprised at discovering settings on our phones we didn’ t know existed and new ways to capture what’s in front of us.
Here are Peter’s notes which are also available in the Volunteer Toolkit.
We ended with a short trip into the park. These sessions are warmly received as a way to get Volunteer Coordinators’ together, hear updates and plan ways to work together.
The next date is Tuesday 18th March on the popular topic of social media, led by Hannah Wicks from the council team and Georgia Baum from Volunteer Centre Sutton, venue tbc. RSVP to NatashaBlok@vcsutton.org.uk.
