Members of our Afghan English Conversation Club recently welcomed volunteers from our Health Navigators project for a special health and wellbeing session at the Volunteer Centre Sutton office.
Held on 7 July, the session brought together eight Afghan women and four volunteers from the Tuesday English Conversation Club, creating an opportunity to combine language learning with practical health support.
Our dedicated Health Navigator volunteers, Polly and Gladis, carried out free blood pressure checks and spoke with participants about the importance of monitoring their health. The session also gave attendees the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about maintaining their wellbeing.
The collaboration highlights how Volunteer Centre Sutton's projects work together to support local communities, helping people build confidence, improve their health, and access valuable information in a welcoming and supportive environment.
