MAPS Mentoring marked a milestone with its biggest outing to date at Sutton Sports Village, bringing together 12 mentoring pairs along with six members of the MAPS Ukrainian group for an evening of activity, fun and connections. The disco bounce session, set against a backdrop of music and lights, provided the perfect setting for Mentees and Mentors to engage, challenge themselves, and build confidence.
"It was fantastic to see everyone pushing themselves and supporting each other."
The evening was filled with energy, from competitive rounds of 'Push the Button' to navigating inflatables and showcasing skills on the trampolines. The battle beams proved a highlight, with even Practitioners stepping up to take part—though one found themselves momentarily stuck in the foam pit much to everyone's amusement! Meanwhile, Mentees demonstrated courage as they took on the high platform jump, encouraged by their peers.
Beyond the physical activities, the event was a testament to the power of mentoring, as young people stepped outside their comfort zones not just physically, but socially. Many mentees took the opportunity to connect with new faces, strengthening their confidence and sense of community.
MAPS Mentoring is always looking for dedicated individuals to volunteer and make a difference in a young person’s life. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, click here to get in touch with us today!
