Despite gloomy skies outside, we had a vibrant and interesting session for our September Volunteer Coordinators' Forum at St Raphael's Hospice. We are grateful for their excellent hosting including delicious pastries and useful insights into the topic of Investing in Volunteers Award.
They've kindly shared resources which we have added to our Volunteer Managers Toolkit.
It was lovely to again see a good mix of familiar faces and new faces at our September Volunteer Coordinators’ Forum which St Raphael’s Hospice team opened their impressive St Bede’s Conference Centre to welcome us.
After an introduction, with some networks already forming between individuals, Ginny and Lorraine from St Raphael's Hospice volunteer team gave a very insightful talk about their experience of the Investing in Volunteers Award.
There were many questions and they have kindly shared some of their resources with all organisations to reference which are found in our Toolkit here.
- Presentation on the Investing in Volunteers Award
- Volunteer Policy
- Problem Solving Policy.
The idea was to end with a tour of the facility, but heavy thunderstorms and vibrant conversation encouraged us to have an audio tour instead. Their wellbeing space brightened up the dark skies with the artwork covered walls and cheery interior.
