Ukraine Support: how Volunteer Centre Sutton has supported the Ukraine community

In the run up to Ukraine Day of Independence (24th August), we reflect on the highlights of Volunteer Centre Sutton's Ukraine Support project.

Our Ukraine project welcomes, and supports the integration of, Ukrainian families, children and adults who have arrived in Sutton since the war started. Thank you to The London Borough of Sutton’s Refugee Resettlement Team for the continued funding of the project.

This short video shares just some of the many highlights of this project:

Ukraine Day of Independence community picnic

On Saturday 24th August, Nataliya, our Ukraine Support Project Coordinator is organising a community picnic in recognition of Ukraine Independence Day. This will be an informal and friendly gathering in Cheam Park at 1.00pm.

Please bring your own food, drinks, and blankets. The teachers from the "Ukrainian Wreath" Saturday morning ‘school’ will organise children’s activities, and there will be entertainment from a special guest!

If the weather is rainy, this event will take place at Christ Church Sutton at the earlier time of 11.00am. Indoor activities and entertainment for the children will be held inside. We will provide coffee, tea, and sweet treats for everyone.
