On Thursday, 27th Aug 2025, the Volunteer Centre Sutton's Offices were buzzing with laughter and energy as Issy led a lively dance and games session for a wonderful group of Afghan children and Young Commissioners. The session was filled with fun, smiles, and a real sense of community.
Issy, known for her infectious energy, shared a dance routine to Uptown Funk, encouraging everyone to get moving. While some children were naturally enthusiastic, others were a little shy at first—but Issy’s positivity and warmth soon brought them out of their shells. By the end, every participant was smiling and engaged.
One of the highlights of the session was Issy’s “Buzzy Bees” game. Children danced around, stopped on command, and transformed into objects starting with a letter Issy called out. Laughter filled the room as Sarah Henry, who leads the Afghanistan Support project, became an “Igloo” for the letter ‘I’! The activity was enjoyed by all ages and genders, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere.
Nick Baum, Community Support Manager, Natasha Block, Youth Participation Officer, Sarah Henry, Viktoria from the Ukraine Mentoring Project, and other staff joined in, cheering on the participants and taking part in the fun. The young commissioners showed great enthusiasm, diving straight into the activities and helping make the session a huge success.
By the end of the day, the room was full of happy faces and shared memories—proof that a little energy and creativity can go a long way in bringing people together. Issy’s dedication to spreading joy and building confidence shone through, leaving everyone inspired and smiling.
