The Health Navigators are a group of trained volunteers who provide free health and wellness checks for residents, as well as supporting residents to use the NHS App. They attend regular sessions across the borough at settings such as GP surgeries, community groups and events, reaching many people who may not be regularly accessing health services.
Last month, we were delighted to be able to bring together many of our volunteers with our colleagues at NHS South West London, including Nadine Wyatt, Health and Care Integration Programme Lead (London Borough of Sutton / NHS South West London), Dr Vidhya Thiagamoorthy (Grove Road Practice) and Chair of the Sutton Londonwide Local Medical Committee (LMC) and Dr Laura Rodriguez-Benito (Benhill and Belmont GP Centre).

26% of residents who have undergone a free health and wellbeing check have been revealed to have high blood pressure. Anyone showing a high reading is immediately referred for medical attention through a robust follow-up process. Read more…
A huge thank you to Nadine, Vidhya and Laura for attending and to our volunteers for sharing their invaluable insights from their experiences. And thank you to our project lead Lisha, for leading our dedicated volunteers, and for providing delicious home-cooked food!
