This prestigious recognition highlights the incredible efforts of our Health Navigator volunteers who support Sutton’s diverse communities by improving access to health information and services. The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion category honours individuals and organisations that champion initiatives for Sutton’s vibrant and diverse communities. Our Health Navigators represent this mission by ensuring everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to the support they need to live healthier lives.
Through free health and wellbeing checks at GP surgeries and community events, our team actively engages with those who may face challenges in navigating the healthcare system. They do this by monitoring blood pressure and BMI checks, raising awareness about critical health conditions like diabetes and mental health, guiding residents on how to use the NHS app etc.
This nomination is a testament to the passion and dedication of our trained Health Navigator volunteers, who give their time and energy to improve lives across Sutton. Their work shows the spirit of collaboration, working hand in hand with NHS Southwest London Integrated Care System to provide early interventions impact health outcomes.
The Sutton Community Awards celebrate individuals and groups who make our borough a better place, and we are honoured to be included among such inspiring nominees. The awards ceremony for the Sutton Community Awards 2024 will take place on Thursday 28th November at The Cryers Art Centre in Carshalton.
