Nataliya, our Ukraine Project coordinator says:
We would like to share our pride in how our community came together for such an important cause. This event, dedicated to the third anniversary of the resilience and strength of the Ukrainian people amidst the full-scale war, was a powerful demonstration of solidarity, support, and compassion.
Over 550 people gathered together to honour the memory of the fallen and express their solidarity with those who continue to fight for peace in Ukraine. The funds raised, totaling £1,930.10, will be directed to support those who need help the most in Ukraine. This is a testament to how important it is to stand together during these challenging times, to help one another, and to remember those who are in need.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to organizing this event. Special thanks go to Phil Brooks and the Christ Church Sutton, volunteers from the Salvation Army Church, the Carshalton Choral Society Choir, all Ukrainian community and the talented musicians from the Phoenix Concert Band, whose music added an unforgettable atmosphere and energy to the afternoon. Their performance truly made the event even more special, and we are deeply grateful for their contribution.
Sutton is not just a town; it is a true community where everyone can feel part of something bigger, where people support one another.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who came to support our Ukrainian friends. A special thank you to the local authorities and to all those who opened their homes and hearts to those in need of support.
As we reflect on this unforgettable event, we are reminded that it is through unity, compassion, and collective action that we find strength in even the darkest times. Together, we continue to make a difference, and together, we will bring hope and peace to those who need it most.
