Young Commissioners Visit Parliament and Explore Democracy

Young Commissioners explored Parliament, democracy and opportunities to make their voices heard during an inspiring visit to Westminster.

During their visit, the Young Commissioners took part in a guided tour of the historic building, including the chance to stand in the benches of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. They also explored areas normally off-limits to the public, including walking up the impressive Royal Staircase.

The visit also gave the group the opportunity to learn more about how young people can have their voices heard. They took part in a workshop exploring how to write a petition, learning how petitions can be used to raise issues and campaign for change.

Putting their learning into practice, the Young Commissioners then had the chance to create their own petitions, developing ideas around issues that matter to them.

The visit was a valuable opportunity for the young people to learn more about Parliament, democracy and how they can use their voices to make a difference in their communities.
