We’re delighted to continue supporting Hong Kongers choosing to arrive and live in the London Borough of Sutton thanks to additional funding from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing & Communities. Over the last year we have supported over 500 Hong Kongers through our 6 Week Welcome Course, Buddy Programme, Lunar New Year celebrations as well as Informative Coffee Mornings, Community Events and Day Trips.
Looking ahead to Autumn we will be running our Welcome to the UK Course and a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration on 30th September at Hill House - watch out for further information soon or follow Integrating Sutton on Facebook.
Our successful Buddy Programme continues to pair Hong Kongers with a local resident to help them integrate and ask all those questions you want to ask but might not in larger groups! We are always on the search for more local volunteers to get involved and become a Buddy for a Hong Konger – so find out more here or sign up here.
We are also hoping to run information sessions and workshops on Jobs, CV writing and Interview Skills later on in the year. If you have experience of recruiting, mentoring or coaching and would be interested in volunteering these skills – please contact us at integratingsutton@vcsutton.org.uk.
