At Volunteer Centre Sutton, many members of our Adult Services Team generously give their own time to support local communities and causes they care about, demonstrating that volunteering is a way of life both inside and outside the workplace.
Members of the team volunteer as Sutton Befrienders, helping to reduce loneliness by offering companionship and regular social contact to local residents.
*Adult Servives Manager Irene in the Blue High Viz Vest
Adult Services Project Manager Irene also leads weekly community walks in Beddington Park, encouraging people to stay active and connected with others. Jenny volunteers with her church youth group, supporting young people in her local community, while Dianna has organised workshops to share practical NHS guidance with refugee communities, helping people access important health information with confidence.
*Issy in the red T Shirt
For Issy, volunteering was the first step on her journey with Volunteer Centre Sutton. She began by volunteering at our Music and Movement sessions before joining the Adult Services Team as a member of staff.
*Adult Services Co-ordinator Gill
Our Adult Services Coordinator, Gill, is another fantastic example of community spirit in action. Alongside her role at Volunteer Centre Sutton, Gill volunteers at a variety of local charity events and currently serves as Charity Partnership Lead for the Metropolitan Police Choir.
Gill would love to invite the Volunteer Centre Sutton community to the choir's Summer Concert, taking place at ChristChurch, Sutton, at 5.30pm on Saturday 18 July.
The choir will be performing songs from their newly released album while raising funds for Sing for Joy, a wonderful charity that runs seated choirs for people living with neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis.
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
