Young Commissioners: talking to the Leader of Sutton Council about the 2024-25 Council Budget

Two of our Young Commissioners were invited to be part of a panel and to discuss how the Council budget is supporting young people's priorities of the cost of living, safety, inequalities and mental health.

Our CEO Anita Maullin, and Young Commissioners, Jasmin and Ayman, were given the opportunity to represent the voice and concerns of young people in Sutton recently, in a livestream discussion with the Leader of Sutton Council, Cllr Ruth Dombey. The discussion focussed on the Sutton Council budget for 2024-25, with questions submitted by residents, as well as questions asked by Jasmin and Aymin.

You can watch the whole recording on the Sutton Council Youtube channel here. Sutton Council have also produced a series of shorter clips answering specific questions.

Jasmin and Aymin's questions focussed on the priorities for Sutton's young people, identifed by the Young Commissioners, which are around the cost of living, safety, inequalities and mental health. Read more about the priorities for Sutton's young people...
