You will be the first point of contact for people in your community seeking advice and information on how to resolve their problems on a range of issues including welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment, consumer as well as other areas. You will be fully trained and supported at all times, and have the opportunity to learn about people's contractual and statutory rights as well as honing your communication, people and IT skills in a friendly and supportive environment. Many of our volunteers have used their experience with us to secure paid employment. So as well as helping your local community you will also get something back.

Shine Night Walk is an event Cancer Research UK runs across the country, but London hosts our biggest one—and this year it's on the weekend of Saturday 19th to Sunday 20th September 2026.
