The Young Commissioners this term have been busy working on improving safety in the borough.
This included co-creating the latest edition of the police newsletter which can be seen here, and previous versions here. If you have any ideas for what you would want to see, let us know.
Back in January, some Young Commissioners attended the Met for London progress meeting at the Thomas Wall Centre. They joined members of the community to share ideas and ask questions about how to make Sutton a safer, more welcoming place. They were grateful for the opportunity to get involved.
Then some more Young Commissioners took part in a fun local workshop, where they shared their views with two presenters from the Council Safety team. They discussed the new Community Safety Strategy for Sutton, sharing ideas of how to make Sutton feel like a safer environment for young people.
They also met with @alecldn who has been commissioned to paint the underpass that runs from Sutton High Street to the Civic Centre. He gathered their thoughts and ideas on what different designs there could be, and we look forward to the final outcome!
Most recently, Daksha, one of our Young Commissioners helped spread awareness about Child Exploitation in Sutton High Street. Family Fun Zone in Sutton. She worked alongside the professionals to raise awareness by offering vouchers for any young people who filled out the survey on child sexual exploitation for CSE awareness week.
