Young Commissioners visit the Mayor’s Parlour!

The Young Commissioners were delighted to be invited to the Mayor's Parlour for refreshments and cakes.

Over the past year the Young Commissioners have been working hard on organising events, taking part in meetings and workshops, and designing surveys. At the end of the school term, to say thank you for all their hard work and dedication, the Young Commissioners were delighted to be invited to attend the Mayor’s Parlour at Sutton Civic Offices for refreshments and cakes.

The Young Commissioners were hosted by both Sutton’s Mayor Cllr Colin Steers and Madam Deputy Mayor Louise Phelan. On the day the Young Commissioners were shown around the Mayor’s Parlour and were able to sign the visitors’ book. The Young Commissioners had a great time and look forward to the Mayor attending one of their future meetings.

Young Commissioner Coordinator Jenny Batt said ‘’The Young Commissioners were honoured to have been invited to the Mayor’s Parlour. Over the past year this amazing group of young people have given their time and dedication to improving the lives of all young people in Sutton and it was great to see this being recognised and rewarded. We look forward to hosting the Mayor at a future Young Commissioner meeting.’’

The Young Commissioners are hosting a summer picnic in Manor Park on Wednesday 23rd August from 1-3pm. All welcome to join!
